Assessed from Ikea's product page, captured September 2026, and from regular price comparison across our UK retail partners.
The main draw here is price. From £129.00, the Morgedal is one of the cheaper routes into memory foam, and Ikea's pricing tends to be straightforward with no inflated-then-discounted games. The EU Double size is genuinely useful, as most UK brands don't offer continental sizes and finding one usually means paying more elsewhere. Yes, at this price you shouldn't expect the layered construction of premium foam mattresses, but for a spare room, a first flat or a tight budget, it covers the basics. Its firmness and depth aren't published, so treat this as a value pick rather than a specification-led one.

Who's it NOT for?
If you sleep hot, memory foam can hold warmth more than sprung alternatives, so a hybrid or pocket sprung mattress may suit you better. It's also not the pick if you want detailed specs before committing: firmness, depth and foam density aren't confirmed for this model, which makes it harder to judge for heavier sleepers.

How much does the Ikea Morgedal memory foam mattress cost?
Prices range from £129 to £229 depending on the size you choose, with the entry price at £129.00. That places it at the affordable end of the memory foam market.
What sizes does the Ikea Morgedal come in?
It's available in UK Single, UK Double, UK King and EU Double. The EU Double is a useful option if you own a continental-sized bed frame, as most UK mattress brands don't offer European sizing.
Is the Ikea Morgedal a memory foam mattress?
Yes. It uses memory foam, which softens with body heat and contours to your shape, easing pressure on hips and shoulders. Bear in mind memory foam can feel warmer than sprung mattresses, so it's slightly less suited to hot sleepers.
